The UK鈥檚 Institute of Translation & Interpretation (ITI) has recently published a manifesto setting out the merits of 'slow translation.'

ITI make the point that:

鈥淎rtificial intelligence (AI), translation apps and other digital tools can be great when we simply need a quick translation 鈥� of a restaurant menu, say, or an informal email 鈥� but machine translation without human input can be risky, and that 鈥榮low translation鈥� as a more appropriate approach when getting the message right matters.鈥�
