UK Parliament Petition for Protection of Title

The has had their petition approved and it is now live on the UK Government and Parliament petitions
Initially the Interpreters' Petition Group sought centralisation of听Public Services Interpreting into a not-for-profit organisation, based on WIT's (Wales Interpreting and Translation Services). However that was rejected as a petition as it is not for UK Government to decide - it is an issue for the Local Authorities.听
In respose to this听the Association of Interpreters and Translators (AIT)听suggested they听petition for the protection of title. The Interpreters' petition group听met to discuss and moved forward with this approach. After several exchanges with the听Petitions Committee the petition has now been posted.听
